This past week the 6th grade class took the classroom down to the Hawksbill Greenway. They explored nature and all the beauty of spring and applied it to what they were learning in the classroom. In Mr. Riley's science station students made observations and tested water for turbidity, pH, nitrates, phosphates, air temperature, and water temperatures. They also collected macroinvertebrates to determine if the organisms were part of a healthy or polluted ecosystem.

In Mrs. DeMille's math station students used their mathematical and engineering skills to construct and launch catapults.

In Mrs. Owens' English station students used their senses to construct Haikus and other poems about the nature around them. They also spent time reading.

It was a great day for students to learn outdoors!
