6th Grade students in Mrs. Swartzlander’s class at PCMS went on a mini field trip to the Shenandoah River. There they investigated the water quality of the Shenandoah River. Students found healthy macroinvertebrates and tested several abiotic factors. Water quality tests included PH, phosphate, nitrate, and dissolved oxygen. Students investigated the health of our river that ultimately impacts the Chesapeake Bay. Students really enjoyed the trip and learned a lot about the river water quality.
