Today, April 4, 2023, is School Librarian Day. Please be sure to thank your librarians for all they do for your school. School Library Month is the American Association of School Librarians' celebration of school librarians/libraries. Research shows that school libraries/librarians have the ability to have a positive effect on the success of students. Libraries are intended to be comfortable learning spaces where students are given the ability to have free conversations, receive one-on-one attention if needed, and explore topics in a calming atmosphere.

Dear PCPS Community, We are notifying you of an ongoing situation at Shenandoah Elementary. Shenandoah Elementary School went into a school-wide lockdown at about 10:30 a.m. due to a report of a suspicious individual in the community. The Page County Sheriff’s Office and the Shenandoah Police Department are currently on site and conducting a full sweep of the area. We will remain in a lockdown until there is confirmation that all is clear from law enforcement. No other schools are implementing lockdown procedures as this incident is isolated to the Shenandoah school area. We will continue to update everyone as new information is available. Thank you.
