7th grade history students are starting the school year learning about change in the late 1800’s.

This week, they began talking about moving west for new adventures, new jobs, technological changes, cheap land!

During WIN time, they discussed different thoughts on technology during the early 2000’s and how families had to find out about the 9/11 tragedy.

RADIOS were once a brand new, mind boggling innovation!!! Ms. Taylor’s students built radios and had to maneuver around static and placement of an antenna in order to get FM radio signal, and IT WORKED!

Why did the antenna get promoted? It had great reception.

PCPS SAFETY UPDATE:
Law enforcement has reviewed the concern that prompted PCPS to implement a precautionary low-level lockdown earlier today and has advised that the additional precautions are no longer necessary.
The low-level lockdown has been lifted, and all PCPS schools are resuming normal operations. All school activities may resume as planned.
We appreciate the cooperation and understanding of our students, staff, and families and thank our local law enforcement partners for their continued support.
The safety of our students and staff remains our highest priority.

PCPS Update

It's the start of a brand new year! All of our staff members work so hard for our students, and we want to make sure they are recognized for the work they do. Start their year off right by nominating someone who has worked tirelessly to make sure our staff and students are off to a great start for the 2026-2027 school year. Nominate them for a Row The Boat Award.

The students in Mrs. Hitt’s class have had a busy but fun start to the school year. They learned about the history of state fairs and discussed all the yummy foods that can be found at fairs. They also did a science experiment to discover which solvent will dissolve cotton candy the fastest. It was a great start to the school year!
