Dear Parents and Guardians of PCPS middle and high school students,
Beginning today and running through next Wednesday, November 13, 2024, students in grades 6-12 will be taking a survey to get their feedback on the use of electronic devices (e.g. cell phones) at school. This short, anonymous survey will be completed at school and is similar to the one that was recently distributed to parents and guardians.
If you opted your child out of taking surveys when you completed the beginning of the school year forms in PowerSchool, your child will not be taking this survey.
If you have any questions, please contact your child’s school.
Thank you.

Good morning Luray Elementary and Luray Middle Faculty, Staff, Parents and Guardians,
Earlier this morning the LifeSpot app was inadvertently activated. LifeSpot is our emergency response system that can be activated at any time by a staff member in the event of a crisis situation.
When LifeSpot is activated, there is an immediate response from law enforcement. There was a very quick response this morning from law enforcement to Luray Elementary School - law enforcement arrived on campus immediately prepared to respond as needed. Upon arrival, they were notified that the LifeSpot alert had been inadvertently triggered, and they left campus.
Why are we sharing this information with you? We want to make sure everyone is aware that while law enforcement was present at LES this morning, there was no active threat or crisis situation. We are including LMS given that law enforcement also responded to their campus and they moved into a very short lockdown period in response to the LifeSpot activation.
We are deeply grateful to our law enforcement partners for their continued support and incredible response efforts to various situations. PCPS has extended our apologies for the unnecessary activation of the LifeSpot system this morning.
Thank you!
