In September, the Page County School Board voted unanimously to rename Page County High School Football and Track Facilities to " Buddy Comer Stadium at Panther Field."
The naming of the stadium is a reflection of Buddy's deep dedication to athletics at Page County High School and to the community. Buddy coached football and track for over 30 (combined) seasons at PCHS. He has the best records in football and track than any other coach in Page County High School history. These wins include multiple district and regional championships, and one State Championship. In 2001, Buddy was inducted into the VHSL Hall of Fame as a representative of Page County High School. He continued to faithfully serve our community for 20 more years, until his untimely passing.
The presentation and unveiling of the new facility name occurred at Friday night's football game (October 8, 2021) vs. East Rockingham. Family, friends, former players, and community members turned out in great numbers to honor Buddy and his legacy.
