Bobbi Comer

LURAY, Va. ― On Wednesday, November 30, 2022, Mrs. Bobbi Comer, Family and Consumer
Science (FCS) Teacher and Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) Advisor at Page County High School, in Shenandoah, Virginia, was selected as the Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) National Teacher of the Year. This award recognizes the finest career and technical education (CTE) teachers at the middle/secondary school level who have demonstrated innovation in the classroom, commitment to their students and dedication to the improvement of CTE in their institutions and communities.


Mrs. Comer has taught FCS at Page High School for 35 years, has served on four Virginia state
curriculum writing committees, and was selected to serve as a member of the Perkins V
Stakeholders Team for the office of CTE and Adult Education with the Virginia Department of
Education. In a recent press announcement from ACTE, Comer stated “being a FCS teacher is
not just a career, but a passion.” Mrs. Comer works to instill the importance of family and the
love of learning in her students with the goal of them one day being able to effectively balance
their work and home lives.
