Update on School Status Thursday, January 20, 2022
Good morning,
Out of an abundance of caution and with varied conditions across the County impacting the safe passage on our roads, all PCPS schools will be closed today, Thursday, January 20, 2022. Decisions about afternoon and evening activities will be made later today and communicated. Information for staff will be emailed shortly. Thank you.
School Status Update for Thursday, January 20, 2022
All PCPS schools and offices will open on a two-hour delay on Thursday, January 20, 2022.
However, due to the uncertainty of this particular weather event in our area, we will be reassessing forecasts late this evening and road conditions early tomorrow morning. If conditions deteriorate to the point where it is unsafe to put our buses, student drivers, or staff on the roads, we may have to cancel school. The decision to cancel school will be made no later than 7:00am.
Additionally, please be advised that we have had to make a change to the school lunch menus for tomorrow and will update Friday’s menus as soon as possible. These updates can be viewed on the division website.
We thank everyone for their continued patience and flexibility as we continue to make decisions that have everyone’s safety as the primary concern.

Events and Activities WILL take place, however there will be adjustments to schedules. Please wait for additional information from schools with specific details.

PCPS Status for Wednesday, January 19, 2022
All PCPS schools will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday, January 19, 2022 due to ongoing hazardous road conditions in some parts of the division. While roads in some areas are clear, there are roads across the division too hazardous for our school buses.
A decision about events and activities on Wednesday will be made by noon and communicated to staff and families.
All PCPS staff are asked to please check their email for additional information.

All PCPS schools and offices will be closed on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 due to hazardous road conditions. Tuesday will not be a remote learning day.
A decision about events and activities on Tuesday will be made by noon and communicated to staff and families.

Weather Alert for Monday, January 17, 2022
All PCPS schools and offices are closed on Monday, January 17, 2022. A decision about all events and activities currently scheduled for Monday afternoon and evening will be made tomorrow by noon. 12-month staff do not need to report on Monday and will be contacted by their supervisor with additional instructions.

Notice to parents in the Shenandoah area-
Bus 2 will not be running on Thursday or Friday. We have divided the route between 2 buses.
Bus 48 will cover Grovehill River Road/ River Road- 6:55am and Riverbend Road at 7:05am, the evening drop off times will vary also.
Bus 58 will cover McDaniel Lane at 7:20 am and Rinaca Lane at 7:30am, the evening drop off times will vary also.
