Today, the LHS marching band performed at the state wide VBODA marching band assessment. For the first time in our school's history, they received a superior rating, the highest rating a band can earn!

We are looking forward to Homecoming 2021 tonight at LHS at 7 pm! There will be several activities throughout the building - dance, selfie station, movie, gaming area, corn hole, ping pong, and food. All events are inside due to the weather. There will be temperature checks at the entrance of the dance. Students will be asked if they have symptoms of COVID-19. They will also be asked if they have been in contact with a person with COVID-19 in the past 48 hours. Masks will be required since the event is inside. Activities are spaced throughout the building to assist with social distancing.

Due to pending weather on Friday, the homecoming varsity football game has been moved to Thursday night (10/28) at 7 pm. Senior night for football, band, and cheerleading will begin at approximately 6:35 pm. The homecoming court will be announced at half time.

Homecoming Week is next week (10/25 - 10/30). The attached flyer describes the activities for that week. At this time, LHS is planning the homecoming dance/activities on 10/30 as a combination of outside and inside events. Currently the dancing and selfie area will be outside (weather permitting). All other activities (games, gaming, food, etc.) on 10/30 will be in various stations throught the building. We look forward to seeing everyone!

Please Share!! Late Bus! Notice to parents in the Luray Area. Some portions of Bus 55 and Bus 30 will be 25-30 late this afternoon. Bus 30 will be running a double to deliver Bus 55 students home. Areas that will be late include: Redman Store Road, Pleasant View Road, Blainesville Road, portions of Farmview Road, Hollow Run Road, and Ida Loop Road. This year has been filled with daily obstacles and all of you (bus drivers, car/van drivers, mechanics, assistants, and supervisors) have risen to the task. We know you have an important job on your hands, and you do it every single day with love and grace. You transport our most precious cargo. Thank you for all you've done, and for all you continue to do for our children and our schools. You are appreciated!!

Mrs. Benson’s Physics classes participated in a “Egg Break Project.” Students were required to utilize 4 types of energy (options included wind, electrical, potential, kinetic, chemical, etc) and at least 5 types of transfers. Students constructed models and then tested their model to see if they had generated enough energy to break the egg! Great work physics students!

The Luray High School Marching Bulldogs came in 1st place in class 1A winning Best Percussion and Best Visual, and The Page County Marching Panthers came in third place in group 1A, winning best Color Guard and best General Affect. Congratulations to all of the marching band members in our county! We are proud of you all!!
