As August 23rd (First Day of School) quickly approaches, please ensure you have submitted your waiver application for resident students if you are requesting for your student to attend a school outside of the school zone where you live. As a reminder, this form must be completed annually for each student. This form can be located on the PCPS website at https://www.pagecounty.k12.va.us/o/pcps/browse/125630 or within the forms tab of your students PowerSchool Parent Portal. We would like to congratulate Kate Shifflett of the Luray FFA chapter for winning the state FFA extemporaneous public speaking competition at the Virginia State FFA Convention. She will move on to compete at the National FFA Convention against members from across all 50 states in Indianapolis, Indiana in October 2021. Congratulations to Kate and best of luck at Nationals in the fall!

Congratulations to our Luray FFA students for a great state FFA convention last week! Members participated in state level competitions and leadership workshops. Three of our seniors received their state FFA degree! Congratulations to all!

Last week, two students from Luray High School and two students from Page County High School participated in the Valley Health Health Sciences Academy. Valley Health System partners with the public schools of Winchester City, Clarke, Frederick, Page, Rappahannock, Shenandoah, and Warren counties along with Lord Fairfax Community College (LFCC) to promote interest and education in the health professions. During the FOUR day Academy selected participants engage in hands-on learning activities at Winchester Medical Center, Shenandoah University, and LFCC. Following the academy, the students will have an opportunity to take a Student Development course (SDV101 college credit) at LFCC designed to assist students with transition from high school to college.
