I have noticed a change in the diversity in the available books that my children bring home; from books featuring people of color to those with families made up of all combinations including being raised by grandparents or adoption. She even has an endless supply of non-fiction for my kid that "only likes facts". This morning we kick off our "Tell Me Something Good" campaign to celebrate Kindness Month. In our first post we thank Ms. Danielle Shenk, a teacher at Stanley Elementary School. The anonymous nomination states "Ms. Shenk has two food allergy kids in her class and she always goes above and beyond to make sure they are included in everything while keeping them safe. She always checks and doubles checks everything or has other safe treats so they do not feel left out. She is a rock star! Thanks for being AMAZING!" Thanks Ms. Shenk for going above an beyond the call of duty to be sure your students are safe and never excluded. Page County Public Schools would like to thank all of our School Resource Officers for all they do to keep our students, staff, and administration safe each day. The relationships that they form with our students last a life time. Thanks for the early morning bus duties, the late night sporting events, and all of the other extra curricular events that you attend to not only ensure safety, but support of our students. Tell Me Something Good! Robin Benson, Pre-K teacher at Springfield Elementary School, has received two shout-outs in our campaign. The first comes from Ms. Jennifer Woodward who says, "Robin has been such a blessing to me and my girls since day one! I never pictured my children having to deal with the things they do as their first experience in school, but Robin has made the transition as smooth as she can and I'll be forever grateful to her. My girls absolutely adore her and I know she will always have a special place in their hearts! Thank you Mrs. Benson you are a rock star!!" Her second shout out comes from Ms. Morgan Foster. Mrs. Benson is amazing with this group of kids. Teaching 20 4 year-olds is not an easy task, but she makes it look good! I am so thankful my son has her as his teacher. She is patient with them, yet stern. They know what is expected. Thank you for all you do! Thank you Mrs. Benson, for all you do for Page County Public Schools and the students you serve. You are appreciated.

Tell Me Something Good- Our next shout-out goes to Ms. Teresa Lam at Page County High School, where she serves as the Attendance Secretary and In-School Suspension Coordinator. Her shout-out comes from her co-worker Beth Rowe, who says, "She always has a smile for students and she's a great co-worker and friend. In celebration of Career and Technical Education Month we are highlighting some of our programs throughout the division. Here we have students in Ms. Rines' Small Animal Care class at Luray High School reviewing various systems of the body and how they influence the care of our pets. In order to better understand the internal anatomy of pets, like dogs, cats, birds, rabbits and horses, students were challenged to make a 3D skeleton and identify the major bones present.

Here we have Nurse Aide students at the Page County Technical Center completing hands-on CPR activities in Mrs. Meaghan Leake's class.
