Laurel Ridge Community College is offering a wonderful opportunity for students who are interested in pursuing a career as an elementary school teacher through the Future Teacher Academy.
Please be aware that this is an application-based program, and not all students who apply will be selected. If you are interested in participating in the Future Teacher Academy, please speak with one of your school counselors as soon as possible. There is an application deadline, so it is important to begin the process early.
Students who successfully complete the program will earn an Associate Degree in Education, meaning they will have completed the equivalent of their freshman and sophomore years of college.
If you are interested in becoming an elementary school teacher, this is an excellent opportunity to get a head start on your college education and future career!

Law enforcement has reviewed the concern that prompted PCPS to implement a precautionary low-level lockdown earlier today and has advised that the additional precautions are no longer necessary.
The low-level lockdown has been lifted, and all PCPS schools are resuming normal operations. All school activities may resume as planned.
We appreciate the cooperation and understanding of our students, staff, and families and thank our local law enforcement partners for their continued support.
The safety of our students and staff remains our highest priority.

Time flies... and senior year is here, which means GRADUATION is right around the corner. We would like to invite all of you to our annual Senior Information Night, being held on Tuesday, September 29 @ 6:30pm in the Auditorium. There are several important dates that will be given, our PTA will be here to talk to you about senior banners, Jostens will be here to talk about graduation caps & gowns, we will have community representatives, military recruiters, college counselors and much more- there will truly be something for everyone! Mark your calendars now and we will see you on the 29th!
We will also be meeting with every senior individually during the whole month of September (and into October as needed) to discuss post-graduation plans and be available for help or questions depending on the different path(s) your student chooses to take.
Please feel free to reach out at any time with questions, but we hope that many of those questions will be answered on September 29, please make plans to attend!
