Tell Me Something Good-- Mr. Craig Tutt--Principal--Springfield Elementary School "Mr. Tutt came in to a very hard task, moving to Luray from Reston (like me, so I know the culture shock!) to be principal. He's done AMAZING. He's such a big, happy personality, but he's super down to earth and real. He's the best principal I've met between 4 page Co schools over the course of 10 years. I hope he stays forever (or at least until my 3yo finishes 5th grade!). He genuinely loves his kids, every single one. I've never heard of a principal (and deputy) who fixed a child's home to ensure they were safe and warm. We love him." --Fallon Brumback "Mr. Tutt is an outstanding principal. He is always cheerful and ready to help. You can tell he cares about the children and strives for them to have fun while learning. Mr. Tutt is always open and welcoming to the concerns of parents and doesn't hesitate to chat during pickup/drop off. Even during the off hours while just being around town if he sees one of his kids he makes sure to say Hi and offers a big smile! Mr. Tutt truly makes the day brighter!" --Diana B. "Mr. Tutt is a kind and caring soul that provides the Springfield community with leadership and grace. He is out every day connecting with families as they come and go and always has a kind word and smile for all. We are so lucky to have him!"--Anonymous Thank you, Mr. Tutt, for being so invested in your school and your community. Your big heart and genuine kindness means a lot to those you serve. Celebrating Technical Education within our schools. Computer Science students in Mrs. Atwood's 6th grade at LMS worked together to design paper towers that could stand as high as possible. Groups had 2 rounds to work on their towers with the goal of trying to improve the tower height on round 2. The structure of the activity foreshadowed different steps of the problem solving process that students learned through Unit 1. Students reflected on their experiences with the activity and made connections to the types of problem solving they did for the rest of the course.
