Important Information:
The Luray-Page Boys and Girls Varsity Basketball games are being moved from Luray High School to Page County High School. Boys varsity will start at 6:00pm and the girls varsity game will tip-off at 7:30pm.
Practices for other sports or academic activities will be moved to other schools and coaches will communicate that information to players/participants and parents/guardians.


Good morning,
This message is for the families of students who attend Luray High School. Due to additional issues with the boilers this morning, Luray High School will be closed today for all students and staff. Additional information will be forthcoming soon including directions for students who attend the Tech Center and afterschool activities. Again, Luray High School will be closed today, Wednesday, January 22, 205 to students and staff. We apologize for this inconvenience and are working diligently to make needed repairs. Thank you!

All PCPS schools will open on a two-hour delay tomorrow, Wednesday, January 22, 2025. Please arrive at your bus stop two hours later than usual. Breakfast and lunch will be served. Parents and guardians of student drivers are encouraged to remind them to drive carefully tomorrow. Students waiting for the bus should be prepared for very cold temperatures.
Twelve-month employees will report on time, and all other staff will follow the two-hour delay schedule unless otherwise directed by their supervisor.
The division is continuing to monitor HVAC systems, pipes, and parking lots across the division as we experience exceptionally low temperatures again tonight. Given that everyone has differing preferences and tolerance for temperatures, we recommend that everyone dress in layers tomorrow. Also, if there is any need to change the operational status of schools tomorrow, we will notify everyone as soon as possible.

Luray High School is currently closed due to a contained issue in the boiler room. All staff and students on site have been evacuated. Maintenance and fire department are on site assessing the situation. We will continue to keep everyone posted as to the status of the building.

All scheduled activities and events for Tuesday, January 21, 2025 are cancelled. Athletic or academic team practices may be held at the school’s discretion beginning at 12:00pm but must end by 4:30pm on Tuesday. No student will be penalized for not being able to attend a practice due to unsafe road conditions in their area, due to a lack of transportation or parental /guardian decision. School staff and/or coaches will be communicating with students and families as soon as possible.
Dates for events that can be rescheduled will be shared as soon as possible.

Given the loss of instructional time this week to inclement weather, the following calendar adjustments are being made to the 2024-2025 Academic Calendar:
1. The end of the second quarter is being moved from Friday, January 17, 2025, to Friday, January 24, 2025.
2. Report cards will now be issued on Friday, January 31, 2025.
3. The teacher workday that was scheduled for Tuesday, January 21, 2025, will now be a regular school day for all students and staff. Tuesday, January 21, 2025 will no longer be a student holiday.
If any other calendar adjustments need to be made due to inclement weather, we will notify faculty, staff, and parents/guardians as soon as possible.

Given the condition of some roads across the county and continued low temperatures this evening, all PCPS schools will remain closed on Friday, January 10, 2025. A decision about afternoon and evening activities and events on Friday and Saturday will be made by noon Friday.
Unless directed otherwise by their principal or supervisor, all division staff will report by 10:00am to prepare classrooms and other division spaces for the return of students. Principals and supervisors will follow up with additional details via email.
