First, we would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your patience and understanding during these uncertain times. We understand that there are many questions regarding our plans moving forward. We assure you that we are working tirelessly to find a plan that works for everyone. We ask that you allow us the time to absorb the information that was announced by the Governor yesterday, as well as what came from the school board meeting last night. We have a conference call first thing this morning and then meetings following to plan for future steps. As soon as we have a plan ready, we will release the information to the public. This is a message from Page County Public Schools:
Following Governor Northam's stay at home order, Page County Public Schools has CANCELED all instructional packet pickup and retrieval of student belongings UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. Students wishing to retrieve personal medication should contact the school to schedule a time to do so. Thank you for your understanding. Please share.

Update/Correction
Quarter 3 report cards will be mailed home on Tuesday, April 14, 2020. Quarter 3 grades will be determined from student work completed through Friday, March 13, 2020. Thank you and please share.

When picking up personal belongings of students on March 31st and April 1st, please remember to bring locker keys or lock combinations. Library books should be returned at this time. A limited number of people will be allowed in the building at one time. If you need to arrange a different pickup time and date, please call the school at 540-652-3400. Refunds for field trips, pillow kits and other refunds will be mailed. Please be patient as we work through the refund process. Yearbooks are not available yet. We will send notification once yearbooks arrive later in the Spring.

Announcement regarding buildings and facility usage:
At this time,all Page County Public Schools school buildings and facilities are closed through Thursday, April 30, 2020. We will reevaluate outside requests for facility use for the remainder of the school year at a later date.

Important Message Regarding Testing:
SOL tests are expected to be canceled this year. The Virginia Department of Education is preparing an application for the testing waiver from the U.S. Department of Education. Please share.

Announcement for students who have school-issued library books: (All Grades)
Students are asked to return school-issued library books on March 31 or April 1, 2020. Schools will be open for drop-off of these items from 8:00 - 11:00 a.m. and from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m.

The Stanley Stingrays Swim Team will continue to hold registration ONLINE next Tuesday, March 31, 2020, from 5-8 p.m. Open to the towns of Rileyville, Luray, Shenandoah, and Stanley, ages 4-18. The VHSL has announced that it will delay a decision until May in regards to spring sports and potential competition in the summer. Please see the official press release attached for further information.



Following Governor Northam's school closing announcement, Page County Public Schools has developed the following schedule to provide opportunities for students to make academic progress and continue to learn and grow.
April 2-15, 2020 - Students will complete instructional activities that assist in continued thinking, learning, and inquiry. Students may access these materials online or pick-up these items at their school on March 31 or April 1, 2020 (8:00 - 11:00 a.m. / 4:00 - 7:00 p.m.) Online materials may be accessed using the link below or via a student's Google Classroom account. Good evening Page County Public Schools Community:
This is information is regarding distribution and pick-up/Dates: On 3/31 and 4/1 from 8-11 a.m. and 4-7 p.m staff will be available at each school. At this time you will pick up review packets, student belongings, etc. in the following fashion. For elementary students, it will be drive-through style with staff bringing out student belongings and work packets. For secondary students, you will be allowed in to clean out lockers and receive work. (No more than 10 people are allowed in at a time) This work will be distributed by either online access or if internet/device is an issue, paper packets will be provided. For those unable to pick up the packets and belongings, please contact your school. For the next two weeks, students will complete the work that is provided during this time. To pick up medications, you will need to go to the nurses office one at a time. Thank you and please share.

Per Governor Northam’s announcement today, all schools will remain CLOSED for the remainder of this school year. Within the next 24 hours, all school divisions will be given guidance from the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) pertaining to graduation credits, continuity of learning with a focus on equity and other matters. Meals will continue to be provided to students. We know you will have many questions and we ask for your patience and understanding while we work on the details in collaboration with our federal and state agencies. We will have more to share with our stakeholders later this week, and we will continue to communicate the next steps and plans as they evolve throughout the upcoming weeks and months as we navigate these uncharted waters together.
