Weather
Good evening PCPS Faculty, Staff and Families, While there is a forecast of inclement weather in the area that could impact school tomorrow, Friday, January 19, 2024, we are waiting until the morning to make a decision. This decision would be made by 5:30am and will be to either close schools or call a delay if warranted. So that staff and families can be prepared, we are sharing this message with you this evening. Why are we waiting until the morning instead of making a decision tonight? Several weeks ago, a weather forecast called for several inches of snow and we received mostly rain. Given that we have already missed three days of school recently due to inclement weather, we want to be very sure that we do not call for a closure if one is not necessary. While safety will always be our primary concern when making weather calls, we also want to ensure that we protect valuable instructional time with our students whenever possible. We thank you for your continued support and patience.
