NOTICE TO PARENTS IN THE STANLEY AREA--PLEASE SHARE
BUS 68 will be approximately 45 minutes late this afternoon.
Bus 17 will be split into 3 separate runs.
*340 West, Park Road and Roundhead Drive will be on time and riding A3 which is a mini bus.
*All students in the Deerfield Estates Area and Stoneyrun Road will ride bus 59 and arrive around 3:40 pm.
*Honeyville Road students will ride bus 42 -second run and will be approximately 45 minutes late.
Bus 59's regular route will be approximately 15 minutes late on Nauman Lane, Keystone Road, Lucas Hollow, Cubbage Hollow and Basin Hollow Road.


This is a reminder that tonight is Reading Rocks Literacy Night! We are so excited to have our families and students come discover how much reading rocks. We have special activities planned, dinner, and every student receives a free book. Come join us for a fun evening! See you there.



This week, October 17-21st is Bus Safety Week. During this week we'd like to thank our bus mechanics and garage staff for all they do to keep our busses running smoothly. They play a huge part in making sure our students get to and from school and extracurricular activities safely. Thank you for all you do!

Today at PCPS we also celebrate Boss's Day! Thank you to all of our employees who serve in a supervising role. Your responsibilities and hard work do not go unnoticed. Our school division is lucky to have you all!

We are so excited to be hosting our first McSpirit Night at McDonald's in Luray, VA. Stanley Elementary will receive 10% of the proceeds from the sales on Nov. 3, 2022. Teachers and staff will be at McDonald's to eat with students. Prizes will be given out and a photo booth will be available. Please mark your calendars now and come support Stanley Elementary School.

PARENT SAFETY NIGHT
PCPS invites all parents and guardians to an informational safety night on Monday, October 17, 2022 at the Page County Technical Center. The following free services are offered to parents and guardians: Dinner, childcare and transportation. Presentations include Hidden in Plain Sight, School Safety, REVIVE! Narcan Training, and Internet Safety. Dinner starts at 5:30pm and the presentations begin at 6:00pm. More information can be found on the division homepage. We look forward to seeing you there!


We would like to thank all of our partnering businesses for making Farm to School Week 2022 a success! We also would like to send a huge thank you to Jenny Jeffries and the Nutritional Services staff for doing such a wonderful job, not just this past week, but for the job they do every day in serving our students.
Friday's lunches offered students a side of roasted sweet potatoes grown at Survivor Farm (Luray, Page County).

Today, we enjoyed quarter pound Burner's Beef (Luray, Page County) burgers. Elementary students had them topped with cheddar cheese made in Dayton (Rockingham County) at Shenandoah Valley Family Farms. Middle and High students enjoyed customizing their burgers on our burger bar (options included local cheddar cheese and local greens). Tossed salads today were made with greens from Stony Run Greenhouse (Shenandoah, Page County).

We started our day off right today with Blueberry Overnight Oats using Purple Mountain Organics (Maryland) traditional rolled oats.
Thursday we will be serving quarter pound Burner's Beef (Luray, Page County) Burgers with cheddar cheese made in Dayton (Rockingham County). Elementary students will be offered the cheddar cheeseburger. Middle/High students can customize their burger to their liking on our Burger Bar.
Thursday is also the annual Crunch Heard 'Round the Commonwealth. All students and staff will be given an apple grown at Thornton River Orchards (Sperryville, Rappahannock County) to take a crunch and make some noise for Farm to School week.
