Dear Luray High and Page County High School Faculty, Staff and Families, As we plan for graduation ceremonies on Saturday, June 7, 2025, we have been closely monitoring weather forecasts. Given the prediction of rain and thunderstorms and the uncertainty around the timing of these weather events, the division has decided to move all graduation ceremonies indoors on Saturday. The times of the ceremonies will remain unchanged: Luray High School – 10:00 AM Page County High School – 6:00 PM This decision allows our staff time to prepare the gymnasiums for graduation and ensures that families have time to adjust their plans. It will be important for all families to follow the directions the school has provided for moving the ceremonies inside. Please look for additional information from Mrs. Clark (LHS) and Mr. Cale (PCHS) between now and Saturday. Both ceremonies will be live-streamed for anyone who cannot attend in person. PCPS is announcing the following administrative changes for the 2025-2026 school year. Mr. Derek Ritenour, Principal of Luray Middle School, will be leaving PCPS and returning to Shenandoah County Public Schools. The position of Principal of Luray Middle School will be posted and the division will begin accepting applications. An interim principal will be placed at LMS until the position is filled. As has been done in the past, a survey for faculty, staff and parents gathering feedback on the new principal will be provided. Additionally, Ms. Emily Deamond, Assistant Principal of Luray Middle School will be moving to Page County High School, where she will be serving as the Assistant Principal beginning July 1, 2025. An update on the Assistant Principal position will be forthcoming. Mrs. Shannon Hawkins, Assistant Principal at Page County High School will be moving to Page County Middle School to serve as the Assistant Principal beginning July 1, 2025. Please join us in wishing Mr. Ritenour all the best in Shenandoah and Mrs. Hawkins and Ms. Deamond all the best at their new schools. We are grateful to all of our administrators for the hard work they do each day in PCPS in support of students, staff and families. Thank you!

Yesterday, Luray High School seniors got to travel the hallways of Springfield Elementary, Luray Elementary, Luray Middle School and Luray High School one last time. Good morning, Unfortunately road conditions in various locations across the division are not passable by our buses and division vehicles and some roads are closed. All PCPS schools and offices will be closed today, Wednesday, May 14, 2025. 12-month staff do not report. This decision was not made lightly and was made out of an abundance of caution for the safety of all students, staff, and families. Any SOL testing that was to take place today will be rescheduled. Schools will be communicating information to staff and families as soon as possible. Thank you for your continued support and patience. Please stay safe today! Thank you!

All PCPS schools and offices will open on a two-hour delay today, Wednesday, May 14, 2025. Please arrive at your bus stop two hours later than usual. Breakfast and lunch will be served. This delay will allow staff to continue to evaluate conditions across the division. We will communicate updates or changes if needed. Again, we thank you for your support as we navigate varied road conditions across the division to ensure everyone’s safety.
