The Luray High School FCCLA had the Ultimate Leadership Experience at the State Leadership and Recognition Conference over spring break. Congratulations to Jayden Harris, and Victoria Shoop for being Power of One Program completers and for being featured in the FCCLA senior spotlight. Jayden was also awarded the LHS chapter “Ultimate Leader Award” for her outstanding dedication and leadership to the Luray High School FCCLA chapter. Another huge congratulations goes out to the Parliamentary Procedure team for winning 1st place in the state. Team members are Jayden Harris, Victoria Shoop, Jamie Sponsler, Jacob Gardner, Kaitlynn Scott, Mia Meyer, Alexis Fleenor, and Shyla Blackie. Each team member was awarded a 10,000 scholarship to Sullivan University. The team will advance to nationals this summer in Orlando Florida. Yet another achievement came from Madison Jessee who was a silver medalist in her Career Investigation project. The LHS chapter would also like to recognize Anaya Ragland and Vinnie Black for supporting the team along the way and for attending the leadership sessions and meetings while at the conference. With all of the success this year, your LHS FCCLA chapter was awarded the “Gold Outstanding Chapter Award” as well as receiving ribbons for completing 7 national programs and a public relations ribbon. We are super proud of the LHS FCCLA Chapter!

Page County Public Schools To Hold Annual Art Show.


Dear PCPS Faculty, Staff, and Families,
At the end of this school year, Mrs. Cathy Marston, Page County Public School’s Director of Elementary Education, will be retiring from PCPS after 33 years of service. We are grateful to Mrs. Marston for her dedicated work over the years and we wish her all the best in his retirement. The position of Director of Elementary Education was realigned to a Director of Teaching & Learning for grades PreK-12 in the instructional department.
Page County Public Schools (PCPS) is excited to announce that Mrs. Sara Hammill has been selected as the new Director of Teaching and Learning. Mrs. Hammill holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Science and Secondary Education from Lyndon State College and a Masters of Science in Education - Administration and Supervision from Shenandoah University. Mrs. Hammill has seven years of teaching experience at the high school level, and 20 years of administrative experience as an assistant principal and principal at the elementary and secondary levels.
Since 2021 Mrs. Hammill has served as the principal of Wayland Elementary School in Rockingham County. She has been nominated as a 2025 National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) National Distinguished Principal and is awaiting final notification of this award.
Mrs. Hammill resides in Penn Laird, Virginia with her husband and two teenage children. Her philosophy of leadership is rooted in intentionality, collaboration, and the belief that strong relationships are the foundation of a thriving school community. She shared, “I see myself as a lead learner and believe in modeling curiosity, a purposeful approach and a growth mindset in all things. I am beyond excited to begin working in PCPS and look forward to joining in on the efforts to help students and schools thrive.”

Page County Public Schools is excited to announce that Luray High School Principal, Mrs. Nicky Clark has been selected to serve as the Director of School Administration. This position was formerly known as the Director of Secondary Instruction. Since 2019 Mrs. Clark has served as the Principal of LHS and prior to that she served as the Assistant Principal at Luray High and as a math teacher. Mrs. Clark holds a Bachelor's of Science degree in Accounting from Virginia Tech and a Masters of Education in Educational Leadership from Regent University.
Mrs. Clark will begin her new role as the Director of School Administration on July 1, 2025.
Next week, the position of Principal of Luray High School will be posted and LHS faculty, staff, students, and parents/guardians will be provided with a survey to share feedback on the qualities and characteristics they would like to see in the new principal.

The driver will run most of her route and then come back to get the rest of Bus 55 students.
